My Candidate is the only one in the lobby!

Candidate's platform saying 'You are the only one in the lobby' or 'Interviewer will be with you shortly'?

If you are in a Hinterview and your candidate says that they are receiving a message such as 'you are the only one online at the moment' or 'the interviewer will see you shortly'. Then this means that you are not inside the same platform or page as the candidate. This could be for a number of reasons and below are a list of checks to run in order to make sure you will be in the same lobby as soon as possible.

  1. Platform Check - (Sounds silly) but make sure that you are on the correct part of the platform! You could accidentally be in a Meets, when your candidate is waiting for you on your Hinterview Link. So ensure firstly that you are in the right part of the platform and secondly your candidate is!

  2. URL Check - Next, check your and your candidates URL. A common issue we find are people are either at

    ❌ - www.hinterview.com/h/[first name]-[last name]

    βœ” - app.hinterview/h/[first name]-[last name]

    ❌ - app.hinterview.com/h/[first name].[last name]

    βœ” - app.hinterview.com/h/[first name]-[last name]

  3. Browser Security Settings - Sometimes your browser's security settings can be the reason why you're not getting in to the lobby. This is generally because these settings are not allowing you to join the server fully and be able to host a candidate. The way to check if this is the case is to attempt to conduct the Hinterview in an incognito tab.

  4. Network Security Settings - If the incognito tab/new browser doesn't work then it will most likely be your local server/network's security settings blocking your access as the host in to the lobby. At this point, follow the instructions in the article below to check if you have whitelisted the correct domains!
