If you get on to a Hinterview and you can't hear your candidate, don't panic, more often than not this is easily resolved!ย
Here are a number of checks you can do, if you are ever in the situation where you can not hear your candidate!
Check your Audio isn't Muted: As silly as it sounds, always check first that your sound is turned up fully, and that the reason you can't hear your candidate is as simple as your sound isn't turned .
Hinterview Camera and Mic Settings: Next thing to check is if your candidates microphone is connected to Hinterview. Ask them to go to the top right corner of their screen and make sure the correct microphone is connected. Ask them to try the different microphones on the drop down to see if you can hear them.
Microphone and Camera Permission: It sounds basic, but you'd be amazed how often people forget to turn on their microphone and camera permissions. However, if they have been allowed and it's still not working, you may need to delve deeper and ask the candidate to open their settings. Pre Call Test: If after these checks you still can't hear the candidate, then ask them to do this pre call test to check if it is their hardware that is at fault - https://tokbox.com/developer/tools/precall/
