Network Requirements
Hinterview relies on an internet connection to record videos within your browser, these are the requirements and recommendations for your network.
Basic Firewall Requirements
Open TCP port 443.
Whitelist the following domains:
*.tokbox.com
*.opentok.com
*.hinterview.com
s3.amazonaws.com
*.heapanalytics.com
*.bugsnag.com
*.cloudfront.net
*.vzaar.com
*.intercom.io
*.intercomcdn.com
Along with the minimum requirements, opening UDP Port 3478 will give you a better experience. UDP is highly recommended over TCP for better quality audio and video. For the best possible experience, we recommend opening UDP ports 1025 - 65535
Proxy Requirements
If the only way to access the Internet from your network is through a proxy then it must be a transparent proxy or it must be configured in the browser for HTTPS connections. Hinterview uses WebRTC which does not work with proxies that require authentication.Β
For more information on setting up Hinterview to work on restricted networks - such as proxy servers etc - please see this visual guide.

Bandwidth Requirements
We recommend a minimum dedicated 350kb/s down per downloaded stream, as well as 350kb/s up per uploaded stream to maintain a stable video connection.
For various resolutions and quality combinations, the bandwidth requirements are outlined below:
Quality definition:
Excellent - None or imperceptible impairments in media
Acceptable - Some impairments in media, leading to some momentary disruptions
In other words, as an example, to have an "Excellent" session at 640x480, the user would need bandwidth up and down to be at least 600kbps with 0.5% or less packet loss.
