One of the most highly requested features has landed!

This article will talk you through how you can now deep dive into the data behind your Hintros. With this data, you can understand what's working best for you and further tailor your outreach methods to ensure you're maximising outcomes.

Here's a walkthrough of the feature:

Overview

Insights give you extensive information about your Hintro creations, views, watches and engagement.

It pulls out key stats like when people watch, how they're viewing and engaging.

It allows you to drill further into data, all the way down to statistics on individual Hintros.

Insights and visualisations dynamically recalculate as filters and selections are updated allowing you to 'follow the science' and understand how to get the most out of your videos.

Filters and Comparisons

Throughout Insights, you can filter and check comparisons of data

Filters

Owner

By default, these are set to show only your own data.

As a manager or admin user you can change this to look at one, many, or all of your colleagues' data.

Date

The default view is 7 days.

This can be expanded to as many or as few days as possible or can be removed entirely.

Comparisons

If there is a data filter applied then the comparisons shown across Insights are to the equivalent previous period. So eg if you have a filter to show the 7 days, then the comparison will be to the immediately preceding 7 days. If your filter is updated to show 15 days, the comparison will be to the immediately preceding 15 days.

If no data filter is applied, then no comparison will be shown.

Main Insights Page

Top Level Stats

These are very similar to the stats you'll see on your homepage. However, they're filtered based on the filters you have applied on Insights. By default, it's set to show the last 7 days.

Total videos

This is how many videos have been created in the time period filtered to. This includes duplicated videos.

Total watches

This is the total number of times the videos created in the relevant time period have been started.

Note this uses slightly different logic to the funnel below it, as the funnel shows unique only but includes video views, starts, etc that happened within your date filter but where they were created outside of the time period.

Unique watches

This is the sum of unique video starts of videos created within your date filter.

It is the unique video starts of each video (calculated by IP address) added together.

Note this uses slightly different logic to the funnel below it, as the funnel includes video views, starts, etc that happened within your date filter but where they were created outside of the time period.

Watch time

This is the total minutes watched of all the videos created in the time period filtered to.

Video Engagement Funnel

The video engagement funnel gives a visual view of Hintro input and outcomes.

Ratios are provided from one stage to the next.

The previous, compared to time period is overlaid in a light grey.

Clicking on this funnel will drill you into more details on the Video Engagements page.

The video engagement data is broken down into 5 key sections:

  • Created: The number of videos saved in the timeframe selected. This includes duplicated Hintros and excludes deleted videos.

  • Page Views: The number of unique page views in the time period, i.e. how many times the shared link has been clicked by separate individuals. This includes all clicks in the time period, even if the video was created outside of the time period.

  • Started: The number of times the video was started by unique individuals in the time period. This includes all videos started in the time period, even if the video was created outside of the time period.

  • Watched: The number of separate individuals that watched the videos. We consider 80% completion to be watched. This includes all videos watched in the time period, even if the video was created outside of the time period.

  • Engaged: How many times a video has been engaged with. Engagement means the viewer has clicked on one of the interactions on the page: email, phone number, web address, LinkedIn, Calendly, get-in-touch. One view can have multiple engagements. This includes all videos engaged with in the time period, even if the video was created outside of the time period.

Further Insights

  • Watches by Day: What day (measured to UK time) had the most video views, across all the videos within the filters selected.
Watched by Hour: What time of day had the most video views (measured to UK time), across all the videos within the filters selected.
Percentage Watched: How far through your videos viewers are watching, across all videos shown within the filters selected. E.g. if a user stops watching 20% of the way through a video you’ll see a corresponding drop in the chart at that point.
Engaged via: Where and how on your videos (across videos shown within the filters selected) viewers have clicked to engage with you. Note that clicking does not mean they did get in touch. E.g. they may have opened an email but not sent it, selected your phone number but not phoned it, etc.

Views by Sending Method

Which sharing method of your video brought your viewers to the video (across videos shown within the filters selected). Note this is via the share method you select on Hinterview. For example, should you Copy Link and then share it manually via LinkedIn it will show as ‘Copy Link’ in the Insights and not ‘LinkedIn’.

Top videos

This section highlights which videos have performed 'best':

Most page views - the video within the selected filters that has the most page views

Most video watches - the video within the selected filters that has the most video watches. ie it's been watched to at least 80% of the way through.

Most engagements - the video within the selected filters that has the most engagements. eg users have clicked on links/buttons/contact details on the page

Video Engagement Page

The funnel shown here will be the same as the funnel you viewed on the main Insights page, with HIntro by Hintro details shown below

All filters selected previously remain in place

Hintro Table

This lists all Hintros that have data shown in the funnel above. Note this can include Hintros created before the filtered date if they have views/watches etc within the filtered dates.

You can use the checkboxes on the left-hand side to add/remove Hintro data from the funnel shown above.

It provides a high-level information on each HIntro - when it was created, when it was last viewed, whether it has a GIF thumbnail, whether it has an attachment, viewing stats, etc

Clicking on the Hintro title takes you to a detailed Insights view of the Hintro

Hintro detailed Insights Page

Selecting a Hintro from the previous page brings you detailed information for that Hintro only.

All filters selected previously remain in place

Video details

You have the ability to preview the Hintro, to remind yourself of how it looks to viewers

You can also link straight through the Hintro full edit page to make any changes you would like.

Watches by day and by team

These are shown in UK time

Percentage watched

This shows you when your viewers have dropped off from watching, helping you to improve video performance to get better viewing.

Engaged via

If your video has engagements, this will show where and how viewers have clicked to engage. Note that clicking does not mean they did get in touch, eg they may have opened an email but not sent it, selected your phone number but not phoned it.

Views by Sending Method

Which sharing method of your video brought your viewers to the video. Note this is via the share method you select on Hinterview. For example, should you Copy Link and then share it manually via LinkedIn it will show as ‘Copy Link’ in the Insights and not ‘LinkedIn’.

Views table

This table has a list of every view of the video (including repeat watches).

It includes:

  • Which sharing method was used to get to the view

  • How far through the video they watched

  • If they engaged with the page, which engagement method they clicked

Selecting and deselecting views on this table will update the visualisations above

N.B - Insights are currently only available for Hintros
