How to Use the Teams Integration

Hinterview now integrates directly with Microsoft Teams to allow for quick and easy upload of Teams recordings into Candidate records.

For clients who are more comfortable using Teams, or find that the Teams performance over unreliable internet connections is more stable this is a simple way to gain the benefits of Hinterview’s candidate presentation abilities.

Go to Settings > Integrations and either ‘Integrate with Outlook and Teams’ or ‘Refresh Connection’ (if you’ve previously used the Outlook integration).

Once the integration is set up. When in a candidate record the ‘Add Hinterview’ button now includes ‘Import from Teams’

This will bring up a sidebar with a list of all your recorded Teams calls.

Select the relevant recording and it will be imported as a Hinterview to the candidate record, and available in the Hinterviews list also.

Once imported all the usual Hinterview editing options are available:

Why would I want to use Teams?

Some customers like to use Teams as their customers/candidates are used to it. It can give benefits for the interview if both sides can access the app and don’t need to use the web access of Hinterview. However what Teams can’t do is present the candidates in the same way that Hinterview can.

Why can’t I see the option to upload?

You need to setup the integration in Settings > Integrations before you can see the option

I’ve integrated but still don’t see the option to upload to a candidate record?

In Settings > Integrations refresh the integration. If you previously used the Outlook integration you’ll need to refresh it to include permission to access your Teams recordings

I can’t see all of my Teams recordings?

The integration accesses the Teams recordings in your personal One Drive.

If you have recorded a call that was arranged on/from within a Teams, Team they are stored elsewhere and cannot be accessed via the integration.

In this instance you can follow the normal upload process for Hitnerview – download from Teams to your local computer and then upload to the candidate record

When connecting the Integration I am asked to speak to my company Administrator?

Permission to access your Teams recordings is dependent on the security and access policies setup by your Microsoft O365 administrator. They may have put in place restrictions that don’t allow it or require them to give permission.

You’ll need to speak to your O365 admin to get permissions approved.
